What a cock up eh?!

bah! i knew there would have been something more to that police shooting in the tube nearly a month ago. the gunning of suspected terrorist brazilian man, Jean Charles de Menezes, but nooooooo, i seemed to be the only one who had a problem or was remotely uneased with an innocent man being shot dead when we discussed it in my journalistic enquiry tutorial. seems that the man with a tanned complexion was NOT acting suspiciously before entering the train, was NOT wearing a padded jacket or a strange looking belt, was actually moving calmly through the train station until he did run to catch the train, as he was about to MISS it, as any normal person does. nor, did he launch himself over a ticketing barrier as the police once said... and he also even had time to pick up a free newspaper from the ground... sound like a guy who knows he's in pursuit by police??... ahhh what a cock up.

anyways, i was more than mildly interested when i saw the report on the news. i think mostly its because i was so irked when we talked about the incident in my tutorial and everyone seemed to be so compliant about it and so blasé, though admittedly at 4:30pm on a monday afternoon after a full day at uni, it is pretty hard to gather up the energy to question and discuss. i think it was itv news in england who discovered these findings.
